Schade.

Charming architect-run bakery: Breakfast, organic baked goods, soup, small meals. They sell a few designery things as well – feels like a bakery version of "Hafenjunge" in 1060.

The place to get hotdogs, beer and soda from Hamburg, handmade things and graphic design services. What a combination! <3

An American-style candy shop and confectionery with futuristic, cheesy, brightly rainbow-colored decor. They sell jellybeans, gumballs, dragées or gummy candy by the decagram and lollipops, candy canes, marshmallows, all other kinds of sweets and even candy-themed novelty gifts individually.
Over in the cafe, waiters in dapper uniforms serve calorie bomb cakes, muffins, shakes, slushies and more.
There's certainly nothing Hungarian or authentic about this place, but if you're in need of a sugar shock, this is the spot for you -- and if not, drop by for the Willy Wonka atmosphere anyway.
Once you make it past the grim stare of the bouncer, you'll find yourself in a friendly, relaxed bar/club with quite hip decor: Panels from Manga comics adorn the walls and ceiling and empty soda bottles are lined up in the window. There's a spacious bar upstairs for talking and a crowded dance floor in the basement. I found the music selection a little too mainstream for my tastes, however.
A cramped little cellar with bare brick walls but lots of charm.
Dropped by late/early one Saturday night: The crowd was lots of fun (although I'd say the average age was around 20 at most), the staff spoke English, was friendly and even made unexpected compliments, the music was mixed contemporary indie and 80ies stuff (it was some kind of retro night), and the drinks were good. If I lived in Budapest, I'd probably hang out here reguarly.

This place just opened last week. First thought: Awesome, Vienna is really lacking in Mexican fast food. Unfortuately, then I tried it...
Prices are cheap, but at least so far the employees seem to have no idea what they're doing. It's pretty much built to resemble Taco Bell, but the quesadilla I had (which was heated -- or rather mildly warmed -- in what appeared to be toaster grill) did not even come anywhere near to the quality of the US fastfood chain: In fact, it was so bad I did not finish it.
I might give this place another try in a few months, but in the meantime I'll stick to "Fresco Grill" in 1090.
This spot has closed.

Me: "Where's your non-smoking section?"
Waitress: "Over there... err, where the owner is smoking"
The peanut chicken was alright, though.

Pricey but good – I might be back for lunch, but the regular entrees are too expensive for me. I like that it's roomy and bright, and the tile ceiling is interesting.
Just don't call the waitress "Fräulein" as an old man near us did: You'll be sorry.

Can't recommend this place at all for non-smokers.
Open 7pm-8am daily
(yes, really!), food served throughout. Nothing too special, but who cares when it's the only place open at 4am?

The least crowded of the cafes in the MQ, due to its hidden location behind the MuMoK. The staff is very friendly and the crowd mixed but kinda upscale, consisting mostly of museum visitors.
Even though the food was good, I don't think I'll be back frequently -- it's just too expensive (9-16 Euros for an entree). But if you're at the MQ and the Daily and Kantine are full as they usually are, give the Mumokka a try.

Nice and large, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu is just how I like it, not very large but creative: I had "Crespelle mit Kürbis-Maronifüllung aus dem Ofen mit Schalotten-Oberscreme" and then pear dumplings that were so delicious my companion asked for the recipe.
They apparently serve a limited selection of the menu until 1 am.
The only drawback: It wasn't obvious to me which parts of the restaurant were non-smoking: Our table had a non-smoking sign on it, but guests two tables over were puffing away.
